Cosmo Hotel Hong Kong March 2019
I spent 8 days at the Cosmo Hotel in March 2019, booking through Hotels.com
The hotel is in a great location on the edge of Wan Chai and not too far from the local metro station. Wan Chai is a great area of town with lots of affordable local restaurants. If you want expensive shops and trendy restaurants go for Central. But for a more affordable (and interesting) area then this is perfect.
Its a few steps from the Happy Valley racecourse (races every Wednesday evening and just a dollar or two to get into the terraces). The Happy Valley racecourse is also a great place to do some exercise and is open from early morning until late evening and there is a running track which can be used for free.
The hotel offers a free shuttle service to other shopping areas in the town but if you are willing to walk then the island isnt actually that big!. Use the Citymapper app for real time information.
There is a bus stop just outside the hotel which takes you to the main station for the train to and from the airport. When you arrive there is also a free bus service which connects people who have arrived by train to hotels. Whilst this bus doesn't go to the Cosmo, it is possible to walk from a nearby hotel.
The room was clean and did have a view of sorts.
I was welcomed with some fruit and there is tea and coffee making facilities. The main criticism I had is that there was only a small amount of storage space - whilst it would have been fine for a few days, there wasn't really enough space for 8 days worth of clothes. The downstairs bar was pleasant and the hotel gave me a free drink voucher on arrival. Wifi was reliable in the room and downstairs in the reception area/bar.
Price wise, the hotel was very good value for money - and much cheaper than many other hotels on Hong Kong Island.
Value for money: 10
Location: 8
Room: 7
Would I stay again: Yes
Score: 8.3
